Who We Are

Nancy Jackson, Publisher

Nancy Jackson is a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and lives in Edmond, Oklahoma. Wild Ideas Press is her creation. With a desire to self-publish with excellence she set out to research and learn as much as she could about publishing.

After writing and publishing several of her own books, she found many were coming to her to help them publish their books. She would give them direction but the process was still confusing and there was so much to learn and understand that she would offer to do parts of it for them on a piece by piece basis.

That still left authors with so much to do and figure out. And it left them without a true publisher umbrella.

After much planning and configuration, she developed a plan to give authors the best service possible to get their books published in a professional manner under the publisher umbrella of Wild Ideas Press, but once launched it would be turned back to the author to reap the full royalties.

Book royalties are much lower than most people realize and Nancy wanted all authors to have their full royalties unlike big publishing companies who take a large cut and still expect authors to market and sell their own books.

She purchased the best software and tools and hired the best graphic designer in the business. She created Wild Ideas Press not only to have a unique and professional publishing company for herself, but for others who did not want to dance to the tune of a traditional publishing house while giving away all their royalties. Then they would be required to give their agent a 15% cut on top of that. Because you cannot get into a traditional publisher without an agent.

Her many years working in the corporate world has given her a business acumen and understanding of what consumers want. She has decades of experience in marketing, staying on top of social media changes and requirements.

As a young girl when given various writing assignments in her seventh grade literature class, she discovered a love for writing. The praise of her teacher fueled her passion and she flourished.

Throughout her life, she worked in various  positions where she was responsible for writing policy and procedure manuals, and a steady stream of corporate correspondence.

In 2002 she published Career Quest, a book on how to determine the best career for a person based on their true hearts desire, talents, and skills. Then, how to pursue that career from resume creation to offer acceptance. It also included how to establish a reputation of excellence from day one.

Her creative writing side was somewhat satisfied by writing at home. She later shared many of those various short stories on her blog. But she never stopped dreaming of the day when she would write her first novel.

Working in many different industries in a variety of roles, she was exposed to a treasure trove of people, places, and things that would later serve her well as she wrote her first, and subsequent novels. She continues to write both non-fiction and short-story fiction which she posts on her many blogs.

Before publishing her first novel, she spent many years as a silver/metalsmith designing and making jewelry. As a metalsmith, she taught for several years where she developed teaching curriculums for each class.

She is also a licensed Realtor, in the state of Oklahoma. Her true passion though, is writing and she is thrilled that she is now able to pursue it with the passion she has always had and also helping other authors reach their literary dreams.
